about the writer

Orange CountyMy name is Roger Sutton and I am a researcher and student living in Orange County, which lies along the west coast of the United States. I have always been more of a thinker than a writer, and up until recently I have found a need to put my thoughts down on paper. This space is a way for me to share thoughts with people close to me, as well as people I would not on a normal basis have the opportunity to connect with. I find connecting and learning about people from all walks of life very inspirational.

MEI am currently in the Masters Program for Economics at Long Beach State University with an emphasis in International Trade and Development. I also take particular interest in econometric methods and forecasting. Recently, I worked as an Environmental Economic Research Assistant for the Long Beach State University Economics Department where my work involved optimizing allocations of public and private resources in mitigating regional fire risk. Currently, I work for the Long Beach Port Authority as a Trade Development Analyst where the focus of my work involves mathematical modeling for short-term forecasts, and analysis of domestic and international trade flows.

My mind is just a mess of thoughts and interests ranging from economics, music, art, political science, and the environment. It fascinates me how “small” our planet has become and how the role of the Internet is affecting almost every dynamic of everyone’s lives.

Ultimately, I hope that this blog will build connections and insight between people. If you would like to shoot me an email, feel free at: rogersutton@gmail.com

Thanks for reading!
